Court Lurie is a queer Jewish artist from Chicago, living in Austin, TX. She has developed a professional art career that began two decades ago in New Mexico. She is a contemporary abstract painter, with vast bodies of work in abstract photography and drawing. She has lived a life full of adventure, adversity, grace, challenge, abundance, growth, and humility, and believes her work is born from the dance she weaves with feet, hands, heart, and spirit into and from the present moment. She found a place for herself in the Austin art community, over a decade ago, co-creating Artpost, a center for creative expression, in East Austin. With 5 buildings and 30+ studio artists, she collaborated with resident artists to make Artpost a hub for high quality, thoughtful, and experimental art, events, and community building. She is dedicated to a spiritual life. She is a musician, poet, writer and performer. She is a kind soul living in a strange world, making art and living a robust life.
