I take an investigative approach to understanding our world and perceived realities and with this comes curiosity—sometimes these bites of inquiry evolve into a project. In my work I am reminded of the difference between perceived and direct experience and the paradoxical nature of modern-day experience—the macro in the micro, found beauty in the (sometimes) darkest of places, and the distance and proximity that can exist in a singular moment and time. Capturing aspects and dimensions of place, I work across collected materials to discover thematic resonances, form and meaning—with analog and digital photography, text, video and sound. The final collection and installation of my current bodies of work are spatial relationships and experimental expressions of a specific time and place, be it physical and/or virtual.
