Sydney Yeager was born in Texas and spent her formative years in the Piney Woods. This early influence has continued to affect her work. The tangled forests and dense foliage of the East Texas woods are discernible in her work to this day.
Yeager's work is included in several museum collections, including El Paso museum of Art, Tyler Museum of Art, and Museum of South Texas.
Most recently, Yeager was honored by a one person exhibition at Texas A&M's Wright Gallery, School of Architecture.
A significant exhibition, Little Mysteries, generated by Clint Willour of the Galveston Art Center, toured the state in 2003-4, traveling to The Grace Museum, Abilene, Tyler Museum of Art, The Gallery at U.T. Arlington, and the Contemporary Austin.
In 1996, Yeager was awarded a Mid America Arts Alliance Grant, funded by the National Endowment for the Arts..Currently Yeager's work is represented by Laura Rathe Fine Art in Houston and Dallas, and by Gallery Shoal Creek in Austin.
