About the Artist

Jonathan Biehl started his artistic exploration as a child, drawing images from comic books, Peanuts and Calvin and Hobbes comics. Soon he was creating his own comic strip which won him an award in Middle School. Jonathan started showing his art in bars, restaurants and salons which led to group shows with other artists and successful solo shows in Austin, Dallas and San Marcos. Jonathan's painting Oma was featured in the hit TV drama American Crime: Season 2 on ABC. During this time Jonathan worked as a bartender and later as a professional commercial and personal decorative painter. He also painted props for Zach Theatre and freelanced as a set painter for films and as an illustrator for book and cd covers, all the while doing as much commission work as he could get.To utilize his creative talent Jonathan worked part-time as an instructor for Painting with a Twist. For the past 2 yrs Jonathan has been working with special needs students and is currently earning his Special Education Teacher Certification. He plans on using his knowledge and passion for art to positively influence his students in the classroom.
