As a creator I work with different artistic practices, such as performance art, video performance, installation, interventions in public space, drawings, engravings and writing. In addition, I have carried out several research projects, curatorships and activities related to education.
Seeing a society that to a large extent appears dark and subject to situations that restrict the ability of individuals and groups to self-determine, a society where we are divided and where many are made to suffer by the interests of a few, the intention of all my artistic and intellectual production is to generate events, expand the authorship and expand the limits of artistic work, seeking the realization of a political-artistic practice as a possibility of creating new worlds.
The constant work on the limit of art and its possibilities sets the starting point of my proposals, focusing on the concrete practice and the development of the artworks in reality, assuming that the first effect of the work occurs in the own body. Different problems and mediums are used in my artwork: the body (individual and collective), the time and the space (public and private), the action of the body (and its repetition), and the relation with the matter. But also there is a dialog with the history, the social context, the political problems, and the different layers that constitute a place in it's particularities.
In relation to what I have mentioned about my creative activity, my intellectual interests are broad and contribute to my artistic experimentation from different places: politics (looking for new possibilities of social articulations), philosophy (proposing ways of understanding our present time and thinking ways for its development), science (to understand how the world and humans operate), economy (to understand the material conditions of society), aesthetics (to understand the ways that artistic practice has had), but also cinema, music and especially literature, as related practices that show from their specificities other possibilities of creation.
It is through writing that I have been able to develop a concept that embodies my artistic and political practice: the political-artistic practice and its effects. For what I can say, my practice is a political-artistic one, in which the political and the artistic overlap, what gives a new field of action that seeks an effect in the reality.
