David Bjurstrom, currently known for his detailed graphite pencil drawings, has been showing and selling his work across the United States for over 35 years. He's exhibited his drawings in art fairs and festivals from Miami to Portland and Palm Springs to Philadelphia. In these nationally recognized shows, he's been singled out with recognition, including countless Best of Show awards. Hes recognized as one of the leading graphite artists in the field.
David's work can be found in private and corporate collections throughout the country as well as in Europe and Asia.Having drawn virtually his entire life, David actually spent a number of years working in various painting mediums—oils, acrylics and watercolors—as well as with pastels and other drawing materials. Finally settling upon the simple pencil some 40 years ago, he seldom works with anything else these days.David also has a background in commercial photography, having been the senior photographer for and running the photography studios of major high-end mail order catalog companies Harry & David and also Jackson & Perkins. He credits that photography experience with enhancing his knowledge of light and shadow, which is what makes his drawings, today, what they are.
