small farm by the road

If someone had told me twenty years ago that I would live in Texas and like it, I would have said, "you're crazy". And yet here I am. A 3rd place win in a coloring contest in West Virginia set me on my path that has included illustration for magazines and newspapers in Cleveland, New York, Los Angeles, and Austin, cartooning for United Features Syndicate, and, currently, landscapes of the Texas high plains. The art is my cover story for extended road trips out to the west Texas country that has inspired everyone from John Ford to Georgia O'Keefe to Cormac McCarthy. It's got everything except decent coffee.
