Alison Pilon Nokes (b. 1987, Hartford, Connecticut) received an M.F.A. in painting from The Savannah College of Art and Design in 2020, a M.Ed in art education from Lesley University in 2012, and a B.A. in art history and studio art from Bowdoin College in 2009, through the course of which she studied in Rome, Italy. Today, Nokes paints abstracted imagery derived from her everyday life. Her works are bright, energetic images that are formed as she processes what it is like to be in her world. Nokes's work was featured in the West Hartford Art League's juried Emerging Artists Exhibition in 2015. Her first solo exhibition took place in Wallingford, Connecticut in 2017. Nokes currently teaches at a small private school in Austin, Texas where she has been living since 2017.
