Everything we do is shaped and guided by our past experiences. My experiences have led me to a path of sculpting, where I use anthropomorphized animals to express observations of life. Using amusing creatures, I like to explore interactions and narratives, ranging from instances of strife to playful problem solving. Using a playful picture book-like style to capture attention, I hope to captivate and inspire interpretation in the viewer based on their own personal filters of varying life experiences. Being an educator and working with children for many years has had a great impact on the way I think and the work I create. Inspired by fables, allegory, and aphorisms, I aim to let my work spark a similar response. Maybe there is a lesson to be taught, maybe there is a memory to be reflected upon, maybe the story is just for fun.
