About the Artist
I am interested in the intersection of precision machinery and the creation of art using organic materials.
Our work lives at the intersection of technology, manufacturing, and sculpture. We're fascinated by precision machines and the organic shapes they allow us to recreate. They let us take cues from nature and replicate its forms from an endless list of plastics, metals, wood, and glass. On the backs of engineers and inventors going back thousands of years, we can now measure and cut steel in ten-thousandth increments with relative ease.
To date, most of this technology has been used to create better cars, or weapons, or products to consume. But the last few decades have brought this technology to artists, who have learned to operate complex machinery to produce intricate sculptures, installations, and other works of art.
We aim only to follow in their footsteps, to see what can be done. The goal of our studio is to build a small, sustainable team of diverse talents that collaborate to build wondrous works of art that can only be built through a deep understanding of technology.
