Having Narcolepsy means that I experience frequent and excessive cycles of REM, both during waking life and while I'm asleep. By virtue of this disorder, I have both daytime waking visions and vivid dreams at night. I practice mindfulness techniques in a 2-pronged effort: So that I may attempt to guide these visions, and so that I may attempt to gather the information from dreamtime in order to put pen to paper in the third dimension. I use patterning in my artwork to represent frequencies. Because I'm always on the verge of sleep, I think I experience life in a much more vibrational way. I love the contrast of pen & ink and working large-scale helps me with my wakefulness.
