B. 1968—Originally from Baton Rouge, Andrea Pramuk left high school to pursue the path of a professional artist following in the footsteps of her father, Edward Pramuk. She received formal art training at LSU, Kansas City Art Institute, the University of Texas at Austin and at the SACI summer program in Florence, Italy. After graduate school to make ends meet, Andrea found work at a local Austin art materials manufacturer, Ampersand Art Supply. She worked her way up in the company while simultaneously pursuing her art career eventually becoming the Marketing Director. She was exposed to every art material under the sun and was fortunate enough to be able to test and develop a number of products she would not otherwise be exposed to. In 2012, she launched her own business showing and selling original artwork and creating graphics for hospitality, residential, healthcare and retail. Andrea became self-employed when she could no longer manage both careers full time. She continues exploring art materials through her experimental and abstract work in mixed media. Andrea currently lives in Southwest Austin and works from her home studio/solarium with her musical partner John Orr Franklin and calico studio assistant M. Grace.
