Gildalorena Martínez was born in Mexico City and lives in the Austin area since 2016. She graduated from the Autonomous Metropolitan University in Mexico City with a degree in graphic design. She has participated in workshops with renowned artists such as Gilberto Aceves Navarro and Santiago Rebolledo.
She has presented 15 individual exhibits, including "Visions of Mexico" in the Consulate General of Mexico in Austin; Woman under Construction in the Quinta Gameros Museum in Chihuahua City; and City of Sand and Blood in the Chamber of Representatives in Mexico City, among others.
She has participated in 32 collective exhibits, such as North Wing in the Museo Casa Benito Juárez in Havana, Cuba; Sortilegio, television production of Televisa Santa Fé in Mexico City; Fifth Exhibit of Chihuahuan Painting in the Casa Redonda Museum in Chihuahua City; Simple Exhalation in the Museum of the Former Customs Office in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua; and City of Sand and Blood in the Institute of Texan Cultures in San Antonio, among others.
Third place winner of the VI Binational Painting Contest in the Museum of the Cultures in Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, and state-level semifinalist in the contest Three Centuries Three Celebrations in 2009.
