I'm constantly playing with images in my mind. The only images that interest me are from nature; landscapes, tree branches, insects, animals, algae, flowers, moss, water, fire, and the human form. When I'm creating art, I am exploring ideas and feelings and leaving questions hanging in the air. I'm currently working on a series about our relationship with the Earth where I represent Her as an icon. She communicates with us through the symbolism of the natural world about the conditions of our environment. Upon first view, I hope my paintings appear beautiful, like nature, but on a closer look there is peril, death, and decay but also life, depth, and love.
