Tracy Mayrello's artistic path was influenced by two art professors at the University of Texas. Vincent Mariani, a student of Josef Albers while at Yale, fueled her passion for color. In Lee Chesney's classes, she fell in love with printmaking. In 2003, she joined Flatbed Press and Gallery, learning professional skills in printmaking, publishing and collaboration while working with Katherine Brimberry and Gerald Manson. In over 15 years at Flatbed Press, Mayrello had the opportunity to work with noted artists including Julie X Speed, Texas Medal of Honoree James Surls, and the legendary Liliana Porter, a celebrated New York artist. As Master printer, Mayrello has collaborated with artists from around the world and with each project comes the "dance" or story. South African artist Samson Mnisi came to work for two weeks and stayed for two months, where together artist and printmaker created ten over-sized mono prints. Mayrello collaborated with Austin's own Bob Schneider to create "Night Way ", which won the prestigious PRIX de PRINT No32 from Art in Print magazine .
