Bowtie
2018, Ink on paper, 8 x 10 in.
McCall works in various forms of sculpture and painting, often combining the forms to create a variety of mixed media pieces. She likes to explore movement and sensory elements in her work, an example of this is her hair pipe from the NAT24 Exhibition at Arthouse at the Jones Center, using her own hair to weave a smoking pipe to convey ephemeral qualities and female juxtaposition in use of stereotypical male object. McCall's work is a collection of times in her life and how she has chosen to confront them. Her work exhibits an immense curiosity into materials and subject.
