Jenny Granberry is a figurative painter from Austin, Texas. She works primarily in oils and watercolor depicting people and their objects. Bright colors create a playful atmosphere, while often somber subjects bring a psychological push and pull to the work. Granberry uses painting to work through and express issues from her personal life. Though the artist holds a specific connection to each work the imagery itself is open ended so that the viewer can also personally engage in the work. Granberry graduated from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX in 2011 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts emphasizing in painting. Her work has been widely exhibited in Texas and New York. Along with an active studio practice, Granberry teaches painting classes at the Austin Contemporary and online. She has been a member of Golden Artist Color's Working Artist Program since 2017.
