Austin based artist, Katherine Brimberry, is known for her painterly etchings as well as her skills as a collaborative intaglio master printer. Recently her practice as an artist has focused on time and the effect of basic elements on the landscape. She references land images of the high plains of Texas, near where she was born. Her work is a part of the 3M Permanent Collection, the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, Texas, Galveston Art Center, Amarillo Museum of Art., the Texas Tech Library and others. In March 2019, she was invited to the University of Ni_ for a solo exhibition at Gallery 55 and a teaching residency.In 1989, Brimberry co-founded Flatbed Press to be a publishing press for fine art prints and open studio for artist-printmakers. She serves as the master-printer for publishing and is the sole owner and director of Flatbed. As collaborating master printer, Brimberry has collaborated with hundreds of artists to create over 500 editions or projects over the past thirty years. Brimberry received the SGCI 2019 North Texas Collaboration in Printmaking award, and she was also awarded the Distinguished Alumni award for Lubbock Christian University where an endowed scholarship was established in her name.
