Eve Larson is well known as a portrait artist and native of Austin, Texas, where she has exhibited in many galleries and juried shows since 1985. She is a member of the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society, Oil Painters of America, and has exhibited in their national shows. She participated in the the International Salon at the Greenhouse Gallery in San Antonio and the Bosque Art Classic for 15 years. She has been a member of the faculty of the Austin Museum of Art School for over twenty years. Portraiture, still life and landscape are Eve's areas of expertise. Eve works in oil and in pastel.
Painting and drawing have been a lifelong passion for Eve, although her professional career in art was postponed while she attended Harvard University, majoring in philosophy. While at Harvard, she danced with the Radcliffe Dance Group and was inspired to continue her ballet training. She danced for many years with Ballet Austin and eventually became the director of Ballet Austin Academy. Ballet dancers are a continual inspiration for her artwork, and she draws upon her dance background for subject matter for paintings.
