Celeste Sarabia is a contemporary portrait artist who lives and works in Austin, Texas. She was born in El Paso, Texas, and raised in a small border town in Anthony, New Mexico. Sarabia combines abstract expressionism and traditional representational art to create these brilliant and texture filled, yet thought-provoking portraits, all while using a combination of mediums—acrylic, oil, encaustic wax, oil pastel, and the occasional gold foil.
She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Texas State University with honors. Sarabia's artwork has been exhibited throughout west and central Texas, including Neighbors and The Cathedral ATX: Galentine's Show in Austin, Texas. Her artwork can be found in Mexic-Arte Museum as part of their permanent collection and at Valentina's Tex Mex as part of their personal collection—all in Austin. She has also created many commissioned works of art.
